Daintree Map

The town of Daintree in North Queensland is located one hundred and eleven kilometers from Cairns and fifty-six kilometers from Port Douglas. The very tiny town has a population of 78 at the last census in 2006.

The Daintree Rainforest is close to 1200 km2 and contains a wide range of frogs, marsupials, reptiles, bats, butterfly and birds. The Daintree River runs through the rainforest and is salt water at the mouth and fresh water as it heads inland.
